Wishing You a Great 2022!
What an eventful year on a personal end, from starting a new job to getting married! It has been quite a ride that kept me busy through 2021. In retrospect, I wish I could have dedicated more time to creating and working on the planned content that you subscribed for.
I look forward to continuing to write, teach and connect with you regularly with helpful content that can help propel your personal growth and career in some way.
In the meantime, I want to share three pieces of advice that you can embrace while building your better self this year.
- Get Uncomfortable and Take ActionLook back on how you spent your time last year. There must be something you planned to do but either got busy, lacked motivation, or were scared to start it. It could be picking up a new hobby, learning a new skill, working out to become fit, working towards finding a better-paying job, or any other personal goals that might help make your life a little bit better. It is natural to be overwhelmed when stepping out of our comfort zones. So aim big but take baby steps when making progress. Stop complaining and don't be afraid to put in the work where you have to. Shortcuts may work but not always...
- Stop Comparing with OthersIt is effortless to discredit what you have already achieved when you compare it with the successes of others. Play your own game and keep improving yourself from one level to the next. Put your ego aside and ask for help when you need it! At the same time, help others however you can. Because there's always someone in a situation, you have previously been in.
- Work on bettering your MindsetIf I were to recommend one book to read this year, it would be The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz. The author has done such a fantastic job at evaluating and describing ways to change our Mindset for good by drawing from daily-life examples and interactions with people around him. He talks about how to build a mindset to help you believe you can succeed, Be confident and not be afraid, think big, and most importantly, adjust your attitude towards achieving your big goals.
As we start this New Year, take some time to re-evaluate and rebuild your value system that will help guide your decisions, increase happiness in anything you do and enable you to contribute to the greater good.
All the best!
