X1 Credit Card Review - Smartest Card Ever?
I got off the waitlist and received my X1 Credit Card. Here's my review of benefits, perks, points redemption & smart features like virtual cards.

I came across the X1 Card sometime towards the end of the year 2020. At that time, I signed up on their waitlist. Finally, after almost 2 years, I received the invitation to get my X1 credit card.
X1 card is using 17g of pure Stainless Steel. While that is not its unique selling point, what's cool is that no other company provides such a premium-looking card for no annual fees.
Some immediate features that make it worth looking at are:
- Visa Signature Card
- Benefits & Perks
- Boosts offer 2x-5x points on some purchases
- Smartest Credit Card, read on...
#1 Visa Signature vs. Visa
There are a few key differences between Visa and Visa Signature cards. For one, Visa Signature cards come with a higher credit limit and more perks than regular Visa cards. Visa Signature cards usually have a higher annual fee, but X1 offering it for no fee is a really good deal. Visa Signature cards come with a concierge service that can help you with travel planning, dining reservations, and more. X1 offers these same services that are comparable to Chase Sapphire and Amex credit cards.
#2 Benefits & Perks
Benefits that come with X1 card include Roadside Assistance, Purchase & Return Protection, Extended Warranty on purchases made using the card, Cell Phone Protection (Woah! never heard of this before, not even on my Chase Sapphire Preferred), Trip interruption or Cancellation and Auto-Rental Collision Damage Waiver. Also, no foreign transaction fee makes it a great international travel card. Highly advisable to go through the terms and conditions if you plan to avail any of these benefits.
When I signed up it immediately performed a credit check on Experian and I was offered a whopping $32,000 credit limit. This is by far the highest limit I have got on a credit card to start with. Your mileage may vary based on your credit score.

#3 Boosts - Points Multiplier
You will always earn a minimum of 2x points on every dollar spent. To sweeten the deal, X1 offers boosts on certain types for purchases for example, currently I am getting 5x points on Gas purchase. This is beneficial in such times when gas prices are of the roof. Similar points boost is available on dining, drug store and bigger purchases.
Each point is valued upto 1 cent, meaning every 100 points can be redeemed for up to a dollar. There is no cap on the amount of points you can earn and they will never expire.

#4 Smartest Credit Card, ever?
I kept one of X1 Cards best features for the last. This was the main selling point that prompted me to get on the waitlist. I am subscribed to many subscriptions services and I often try out new once. I frequently use apps and services that offer free trials, some of them do require adding a credit card. While this may not seem like a big deal, for it it get difficult to manage subscriptions and I have been often unknowingly charged on my credit card when trials expired. To deal with exactly these kind of situation X1 had the ability to provision virtual cards. It offers the following security features:
- Ability to end trials automatically with auto-expiring virtual cards.
- Allows you to spend anonymously without disclosing your personal information
- Create virtual cards for one-time use
- Allows you to cancel subscription payments in one click

To Conclude...
The X1 credit card has some solid benefits to offer that are comparable to top-level Chase Sapphire and Amex credit cards without any annual fees. The points boost offer good value that hands down beat many entry level credit cards like Chase Freedom Unlimited and American Express Blue Cash cards. Intelligent features like limited-use virtual cards adds to user security & privacy and a very string reason why everyone should have one in their wallets.
